Spray Painter, Metal Engineering - Crawley

Seeking a Spray Painter who has experience in applying high-performance coatings. This is the ideal role for someone with a genuine passion for hand-crafted products who is looking to work in the metal engineering industry. You would spend your time preparing surfaces, sand blasting, mixing coatings, polishing and applying finishes.

Core responsibilities will typically include:

  • Surface Preparation: Clean, degrease, and sandblast.
  • Coating Application: Mix coatings.
  • Finish the surface of a metal product (brass) to specified finish.
  • Apply protective wax coating to parts.
  • Use the electro plating plant to apply nickel and chrome finishes.

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in applying high-performance coatings to metal / brass.
  • Proven experience in surface cleaning, degreasing, and sandblasting to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality.
  • Hands-on experience with HVLP (high volume low pressure) spray guns and other coating application equipment.
  • Ability to mix and match colours accurately to achieve desired hues and finishes.
  • Experience in inspecting coated products to ensure they meet specified quality standards.
