Finance Assistant - Port Solent

Basic salary 40k + Bonus + Study Support

Broad Core Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Head of Finance.
  • Processing supplier invoices and employee expenses.
  • Support payment runs/Bank reconciliations.
  • Raising customer invoices/supporting Projects team.
  • Credit Control.
  • Reviewing invoice coding to ensure accuracy.
  • Month end closure, accruals & prepayments, depreciation.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Project reporting, Work In Process (WIP), Stock on Hand (SOH)
  • Assisting with Cashflow management.
  • Support Directors with queries.

Expected Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant finance / accountancy experience.
  • Experience gained in a project-based business.
  • Working knowledge of WIP and SOH.
  • Good understanding of accounting concepts and fundamentals.
  • Comfortable with accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
  • Month end experience.
  • Experienced with / assisting with management accounts preparation.
  • Happy communicating directly with customers on invoicing / credit control queries.
  • Used to working with accounting software, Xero.
  • Proficient with MS Office, specifically MS Excel.
  • A diligent, efficient and detailed approach.

Ideally:

  • Hold an accountancy qualification such as AAT / CIMA or be studying towards.
